HI THERE. I'M BRONLEA

For the past decade, I’ve developed creative, practical communication strategies for government agencies in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm skilled at providing strategic communication direction for large-scale, politically sensitive projects and issues, managing crisis communications efforts, and training staff in media relations and social media.

I've served as a key spokesperson and public information officer during local and regional crises. I've developed style and branding guides for local agencies. I've created eye-catching documents and infographics for a wide variety of topics.

I also teach social media & crisis communications, and flooding hazard awareness courses nationwide as a FEMA/DHS certified instructor.

Whether you need a creative document, a communications plan or an on-call spokesperson, my focus is always on building an efficient and results-driven relationship. I’ll work with you to tell your story in a way that meets your needs.

POOPSMART

Septic systems aren't sexy. And even though fecal matters ... well...matter, it can be hard to make a clean water campaign interesting. But with a pile of poop puns, you can make No. 2 the
No. 1  topic on people's minds. This award-winning clean water campaign blended science with bathroom humor to help increase the number of annual septic inspections and reduce the amount of animal (and human) waste left near Skagit County trails and waterways.

#530SLIDE: SOCIAL MEDIA IN A CRISIS

The 2014 mudslide in Snohomish County clearly showed the power of social media as a primary crisis communication tactic for government agencies. This Government Technology article highlights the successes of my social media use during the devastating #530Slide

2016 CASCADE MALL SHOOTING

During the 2016 Cascade Mall Shooting, I coordinated the press briefings, prepped the agency representatives for their time on camera, and facilitated the press conference.

WHEN A COMMENT BECOMES A CRISIS

Crises can arrive when you least expect. A simple social media post became a complex communications challenge - and illuminated the need for records retention. I worked with ArchiveSocial to share this story and inform other government communicators.

WELCOME TO OUR FALLOUT SHELTER

As a communications professional, sometimes you find yourself in the last place you expected. In this case, it was inside a fallout shelter built into the support pillar of I-5 in Seattle. It turned into one of the more memorable adventures - and blog posts - I've written in my professional career.

DOCUMENT DESIGN

Knowing what to say - and how to say it - is only one part of the equation. Presentation is the other part. I can turn your high-quality content into a professional, eye-catching document.
