I'm skilled at providing strategic communication direction for large-scale, politically sensitive projects and issues, managing crisis communications efforts, and developing and facilitating social media and crisis communication training.
I've served as a key spokesperson and public information officer during local and regional crises. I've developed style and branding guides for local agencies. I've created eye-catching documents and infographics for a wide variety of topics.
As a FEMA/DHS certified instructor, I teach social media, crisis communication, PIO, HSEEP, and flooding hazard awareness courses nationwide for the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center, Argonne National Laboratory, and FEMA's Emergency Management Institute.
I have a M.Ed. in Adult Education from Eastern Washington University.
